FSC Technologies was awarded the Prize for Innovation in the Hydrogen Storage category, at the first edition of the IHTA - Italian Hydrogen Technology Awards, an event created to reward the work of excellence operating in the hydrogen technological chain.

The reason for the award was the solution proposed by FSC for the storage of high-pressure hydrogen, which provides for a multilayer structure, with the result of having tanks with extremely low costs, and capable of responding effectively to the loading and unloading cycles without fatigue phenomena.
 

 The FSC solution consists of an HDPE pipe in contact with the Hydrogen, without structural functionality. It is wrapped with a UHPC concrete pipe, characterized by high compressive strength, which is in turn wrapped with FRP “in tension” which puts the UHPC concrete pipe in a post-compressed state.
